Gary’s vast business background encompasses stints in television broadcasting to human resource development, sales and sales management, coaching and development, recruiting, marketing and executive leadership. He’s owned and operated multiple businesses. He’s been actively involved in four startup companies and multiple acquisitions, as the managing partner, CEO, president or general manager. He’s managed and built teams and divisions for a variety of companies. His experiences in multiple business verticals lend itself to bringing different perspectives, challenging the status quo and bringing fresh new ideas.
If you are over 40-years old and lived in South Dakota, odds are good you might recognize Gary. In the 80’s he’d come into your homes on a nightly basis delivering the sports highlights and news of the day. He was an award-winning sports journalist on the “The Big News,” that legendary team of television anchors living in the magical place called KELO-LAND. He left TV in the early 90’s to embark on a sales career, by starting, owning and managing multiple businesses, including the Sioux Falls Canaries Baseball Club and the Sioux Falls Stampede Hockey Club.
Gary’s business success can be traced back to his roots in television. As a reporter, you had better be curious, because if you are not asking questions, observing and listening, you won’t get the story. Those keen observational skills helped him climb the corporate ladder as a manager, builder and developer of people.
Calling South Dakota home since 1982, Gary and his wife Ann, his college sweetheart, have two grown children. They love spending time at their cabin on Lake Kampeska in Watertown, SD, cheering on the Stampede and Canaries, golfing, fishing, going to movies, concerts, seeing events at the Washington Pavilion and sometimes doing absolutely nothing.
